Have you ever heard someone in a relationship say they have “fallen out of love”? In the brain, one is actively falling in love during the first 12 to 18 months after meeting. The brain produces high levels of “feel good” chemicals as we learn and discover new and wonderful things about the object of our affection. The question then becomes, how do you keep that same chemical high, so as to always be “falling in love”. We cannot continually rediscover things we already know, but we can do things that induce those feelings. What then of the spiritual love affair? We should fall in love over and over again with God because he is constantly approaching the topic of loving us from different angles. We are often unaware of most of them, but he is loving us nonetheless. Consider this: What can you do to renew your love for those you are closest to daily?
